Yenepoya University (www.yenepoya.edu.in) is privileged to host the 5th Annual Conference of the International Association for Education in Ethics at Yenepoya University Mangalore, Karnataka, India from 15-17 November 2017. Yenepoya University is the first deemed university in the district of Dakshina Kannada, in the south of Karnataka. Established in 1991 as the Islamic Academy of Education, it started a dental college in 1992, a nursing institute in 1997, a medical college in 1999, a nursing college in 2002 and a physiotherapy college in 2003. On the recommendations of the University Grants Commission, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was pleased to recognize Yenepoya University as a deemed university under Sec 3(A) of the UGC Act. In 2015, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council awarded Yenepoya University with Grade ‘A’, the highest possible grade. . Besides these the other Yenepoya Institutions include Zulekha Nursing College and Yenepoya Institute of Technology. The Yenepoya Group also runs a school and pre-university college.
" The International Association for Education in Ethics (IAEE)” is an international forum for ethics educators established in April 2011 by the former Director of Bioethics, UNESCO - Dr. Henk ten Have. IAEE is a legally registered not-for-profit charitable entity in the State of Pennsylvania, USA. The Secretariat and Treasury are housed at the Center for Healthcare Ethics, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, US. Membership is open to all professionals, science or otherwise. The association provides a platform for ethics educators to interact (for more information please visit www.ethicsassociation.org).
The association conducts an annual conference where members from more than 32 countries meet to interact, share and discuss ethics education.The incumbent president of the IAEE is Prof Dr Bert Gordijn. Prof Gordijn is the Director, Institute of Ethics, Dublin City University, Dublin, Ireland.

Centre for Ethics
Centre for Ethics was established in February 2011 and runs academic bioethics courses like postgraduate diplomas and certificate courses. From September 2017, the Centre will start the "Yenepoya University-Fogarty International Center Research Ethics Master's Program for India, under an educational research grant from the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA.
